A smoking octopus, a well-dressed fish waiter, and table full of bubbles—this is not your average oyster hour. This scene captures the height of undersea indulgence. The table is dressed, the drinks are mid-pour, and the conversation is clearly flowing.

Julie’s work often anthropomorphizes ingredients and animals to explore the rituals of hospitality: how we gather, serve, decorate, and delight. These lampshades are a cheeky ode to that world—a place where even the oysters have social calendars and no one ever eats alone.

Each shade is hand-painted by Julie in our Charleston studio and is one-of-a-kind—no two parties are ever exactly alike. Technically a lampshade. Spiritually a masterpiece.
