A hand-painted lampshade featuring 2 celebratory alligators and a proud peacock. Inspired by long summer evenings and too many cocktails, this piece captures a fictional fête where the table is striped, the oysters are flowing, and the guest list includes just the right amount of drama.

Julie’s work often anthropomorphizes ingredients and animals to explore the rituals of hospitality: how we gather, serve, decorate, and delight. These lampshades are a cheeky ode to that world—a place where even the oysters have social calendars and no one ever eats alone.

Each shade is hand-painted by Julie in our Charleston studio and is one-of-a-kind—no two parties are ever exactly alike. Technically a lampshade. Spiritually a masterpiece.
